thunder & lightning

I looked up the weather for Keenesburg, CO (where Luke is) yesterday, and it said there were supposed to be thunderstorms every day this week!  I LOVE thunderstorms!!   Spring in Colorado really is very beautiful.  It's fairly warm most of the time, and there's these winds that kick up and they are so warm (usually), and it rains.....I love rain....especially when it doesn't happen too often, like in Colorado :)  But the real kicker for me is the thunder and lightning....I just love it.  And Keenesburg is very much on the rolling hills of the eastern plains of Colorado, so you can see the lightning from wayyyyy off in the distance.  I just love it :)

So I am super homesick for thunderstorms and epic lightning today.....boohoo.  We just don't get lightning like that here.  It's pretty magical :)

Best 10 days I've had in a long time!

My amazing hubby was able to come and visit me for 10 glorious days :)  We had missed one another so so much these past 2 months apart, and so this was a much needed visit!  The 10 days was not nearly enough time, but I am very thankful for the time we did have.  He is such an amazing man, and I have missed seeing his wonderful smile every day :)  It was a great time....I took a million photos, so here are some of the best....

Jordan and Luke are great friends - it's really nice to see them have such a great relationship :)

We all had a great time at Whiffen Spit searching for crabs and on a little hike through the trails near Witty's Lagoon....

I took every opportunity to take some shots of the two of us together....

Luke and I had a really great date night one evening :)  We went to Esquimalt Lagoon first, to watch the waves and play in the sand and the ocean, and then we went to one of our favourite restaurants for $0.35 honey garlic wings and some good old canadian beers.  Then to complete the evening perfectly, we went to Tim Hortons for an iced cappuccino for Luke and French Vanilla Coffee for me!  It was a really wonderful night :)

We had a very large windstorm on the long weekend, 90km/hr+ winds!  So Jordan, Luke and I went out in the huge winds and driving rain and headed out to a few different beaches around the area to see the humongous waves!!  It was a really fun day - we got absolutely and completely soaked to the bone, but we had some good times and Jord and I got some good shots :)
Jordan hiding from the wind behind the garbage cans :)
Luke being "blown away" by the tremendous winds!
Mom and Dad getting ready to go down the trail to French Beach to see the waves :)
This is the reason some of us were without power for most of the day on Friday!
The ocean was so angry and wild - that's Jordan up there on the left, trying to get some action shots, but also getting soaked to the bone by the spray :)
Luke taking one for the team :)  Epic baby :) <3

Luke, Mom and Jordan all got the same t-shirt offline - it's a tribute to Dwight from The Office :)  I made sure I took a shot of the three of them together!

Here's another set of photos from our trip to Royal Roads - we snuck into the gardens ;)

Saying goodbye was horribly difficult.....it was extremely hard to kiss him for the last time....I don't know when exactly he'll be back.  He's hoping for June sometime, but we're not 100% positive yet.  It was a very difficult day, but I know we can persevere and get through this. I love you so much honey.

All in all, we had a really wonderful visit together - it was much needed and really wonderful just to be together on a day to day basis again :)  I miss him so very much and I cannot wait to get back to my darling's arms as soon as possible :)  I love you!
