Computer down....ugh....

So the other day my computer charge cord literally fizzled out on me....there was a large set of sparks and then it pretty much just died.  I am feeling a sense of loss without my keyboard being at my beck and call!  Luke's ordered another charger for me and will bring it up with him when he comes......but that's still 2 weeks away!!  Argh!

Anyway, I won't be able to post many photos until then, so this will be a pretty boring blog for a few weeks.  But on a super great note, Luke's plane tickets are booked for him to get here late in the evening on Thursday Mar. 25th.  He'll be able to be here for all the Spring Holydays, which is super great :)  He'll be here for about 10 days....10 heavenly days! :)  It will be wonderful!

So, hopefully I can update fairly often...there's a pretty exciting weekend coming up.  My brother and sister, David and Alina, are both getting baptized!  So that's super exciting! :)

Have a wonderful weekend all!!

Wake Up In The Morning...

Check it out!!! This video is amazing ;) I have to do all I can to help out my little sister and brother in their commercial endeavours! They want to win this prize so bad! So all you need to do is clock the link at the top "Wake up in the morning", watch the video....maybe rate it...5 stars if at all possible ;) And if you feel so inclined, please share it on Twitter or Facebook, or your own blog....you could "digg" it, or fave it, or leave a comment even! So many possibilities...all of which give Jordan and Alina points, which in turn give me a much better chance of winning this contest! :)

You will be my best friend forever if you do this for me ;) LOL

THANKS!!

Doritos Revolution - Changing the Way Canada Eats!

So there's this contest going on in Canada right now with Doritos, where they want people to make a commercial and name the newest flavour of their chips.  Alina and Jordan made an AWESOME video, so they would greatly appreciate it if everyone checked it out!! :)  The winner is chosen based on points, so they get a certain number of points when someone in Canada views it, but they get even more if someone from outside of Canada looks at it.  There's more points given if you share it on Facebook or Twitter, and if you rate it (preferably 5 stars!).  So please check it out - they would greatly appreciate it! :)

an update....!

It's been far too long since I updated!  The last couple of weeks of February were super busy, mostly taken up with Jordan's Grad Fashion Show.  He recruited me to take photographs of the rehersals and then the 3 shows.  I was at rehersals with him usually 2-3 days a week after work, and then editing the photos and making a slide show for the audience to watch while they waited for the show.  And then there were the 3 shows (which were SO great by the way!).  I took photos for 2 of the shows, and then I watched the third show and videotaped it all.  So anyway, it's been a long couple of weeks!! :)  I will try to upload some more photos and maybe even a video here and there if possible in the coming weeks.

But I will leave you with a couple of shots of the fashion show....my little brother is so handsome ;)

Goldstream Park

Alina, Jordan and I took Oreo and went for a nice little hike through Goldstream Park the other day.  Jordan and I went with all of our camera gear...we were ready to shoot away!  We got some great shots too :)  If you're on my facebook, I uploaded all of them on there.  I'm thinking I will need to upload fewer onto here, but I will get as many on here as possible.  It's great to be back amoungst all the moss and greenery of Vancouver Island!

The beautiful forest...I sometimes forget how green and lush it is around here!

This is the moss hanging on most of trees in the area.

A close up of the moss...

Jordan getting a shot!

Oreo!

Oreo giving Alina "5" - he's so talented :)

He however did NOT want his picture taken!  He would do this and look away almost every time I pointed the camera at him! :)

This is the view from the trail on the way to the waterfall - we went through that tunnel later!

The little leash part around his nose isn't a muzzle - it just helps him not to pull on the leash :)  He's a sweetie!

Alina, Me, Jordan, and Oreo!  Oreo was having none of these picture taking shenanigans! haha!

Heading out towards the tunnel

An Inukshuk!  It's the native symbol that's the symbol of the 2010 olympics this year in Vancouver...we jsut found him hanging out by the stream :)

Some neat little plants growing through the moss...I love the colours happening in the background!

Sweet Oreo :)

Jordan looks great....Ali, on the other hand, is terrifying :)

Moss hanging from a tree....gorgeous :)

Jordan being the Pro Photog that he is! :)

300 days of Paper Chainey Goodness

10 months....30ish days a month....give or take.....equals about 300 days until the possible end of our paperwork!  It seems as if that's the average time frame...some people are seeing shorter times, but I thought for a project like this it would be best to go with an over estimate rather than having to add more pieces later on :)  That would be uber horrible!

Check it out!  Jordan and Alina helped me hang it - we had a good time ;)

Gotta love a paper chain!  The countdown continues!

how do you say goodbye?

I don't have an answer to that.... I'm at a loss for words when I look at these pictures, because it was the saddest day that I've had so far in this lifetime. Our eyes are so puffy because we cried so much that day and the day before...I couldn't go a minute without breaking down. I had a panic attack when we got close to security and he had to leave me. My throat literally felt like it was closing - I didn't know how I could possibly look at him for the last time and say goodbye. How was I supposed to kiss him for the last time...how was I supposed to do that? It was utterly horrible. I couldn't touch him enough. But I also couldn't be late for my flight....so at some point he had to go. It was probably the longest day ever....i still have a headache thinking about it.

I got into Seattle earlier than expected, so I killed time with the free wifi and talking to Luke on the phone and on the computer....that's something we have to get used to again! And then of course, to extend the already longest day ever, my flight to Victoria was delayed. I eventually got in safe and sound, but then we ran into further delays on the highway due to an accident. By the time I got to my family's house, I was so done. I was so exhausted and drained and just done done done. I was so excited to see them and be surrounded by people I love, but I was mentally and physically drained. And I know I might sound a little overboard...I know there are people that go through much much worse. People who have their husbands and wives and children off at war...people who lose their family to sickness....but this is the worse *I've* been through with Luke. We've had some health scares and issues, but I've always been there by his side. To not have him beside me just kills me. My heart is so empty without him here. I miss him so much already.

All wrapped up in you...

I had been knitting a blanket for Luke for months now, and I finally finished it just before I left :)  I was very happy - I really wanted him to have it while I was away.  It meant a lot for me to have him be able to wrap himself up in something I made especially for him, so he can feel like it's me hugging him too :)

Package #1

I took a photo of our I-130 package...it's pretty thick :)  Once we got it all organized in order to send it, it was even thicker...once we added all of our cover letters and things like that....

So here it is:

A beautiful January afternoon....

Luke and I went to visit with Larz, Wendy,  Roman and Gianna last week, to say goodbye before I leave.  I've been babysitting for Roman and Gianna, on and off, for the past year and a half or so.  They're family by marriage (Luke is their cousin), but they are most definitely my family!  I love them :)  I'm sure going to be sad not to see them for 8-10 months - kids grow a lot in that period of time!  But I'm going to try and stay in touch as best as I can.

After our visit with the kids, we stopped in at Kendrick Lake Park, out near Jewell Ave & Kipling in Lakewood.  It's a great park!  There's a 1 mile paved loop around the lake, which is great in the summer...but we just walked a little ways to a small bridge overlooking the lake.  I had been wanting to get some nice shots of Luke and I before I go.  I'm talking planned shots, not arms length shots...drag out the tripod and be creative in some way! :)  Here's some of my favourites:

And a shot of the lake:

All in all, it was a wonderful day!
