Day 10 - Steveston's Fishermans Wharf

We had a wonderfully relaxing day today - slept in late, had a delicious breakfast, chatted for hours and hours at the table, and took advantage of the sun and had a great walk around Steveston's Fishermans Wharf.  It was a great time!!

We have such amazing friends in the Davies - we only see them maybe once or twice a year, sometimes way less than that, but when we see them it's like old times and like we just saw them yesterday.  Us kids all grew up together and have wonderful memories together - it's really great :)

Here's a couple photos of Steveston for your viewing pleasure...

Crystal and I were so saddened by these crazy Dungeness crabs - they were alive and being all wrapped up and sold alive!  Stupid I know, just crabs, but still....they well on their backs and trying to get up...it was sad!

Day 9 - Ferry to Vancouver!

I'm catching up on 2 days right now...this was yesterday ;)  Dad and I took the 6:00 ferry to Vancouver and were picked up by our wonderful friends the Davies - they rock!  We had a really nice trip across on the ferry - it was very nice and relaxing....until the lady sitting next to us decided to tell the other lady sitting beside us her entire life story which was very dramatic, and she was SOOO loud and obnoxious! :)  It was quite entertaining!!

Anyway, here's some pics of the crossing....

Day 7 & 8 - Packing!!

Dad and I are flying out of Vancouver on Sunday morning, with a layover in LA, and then getting into Las Vegas at about 3:30!!!  I've been packing for a couple days - first time I've ever been away for a short enough period that I could carry on my suitcase, so I was pretty pumped about not paying for baggage fees! :)

I combined the days - it was better this way.... I will have a hard time uploading anything until next week possibly, but I will try! :)

And away we go....

Tigger doesn't want any more people to leave this house! lol silly kitty :)

Day 6 - First Day of Summer!

What a gorgeous day we had today - so nice to have some sun and some lovely warm weather!  I took the opportunity to take a couple photos of some of Mom's beautiful flowers and hanging baskets on the deck - so pretty! :)

So glad it's finally Summer again!!

Day 4 - Yoshi Sushi

I took advantage of only having 3 of us at home right now and ordered delicious sushi for my dinner this week!  I've been going to this place in Victoria called Yoshi Sushi for a few years now and love their delicious rolls, and I was in the area today, so it all worked out great!

So my picture of the day....mine and Dad's delicious sushi dinner :)  I dropped off Jord's to him at work!

YUM!!!! :)

Day 3 - Jake and Oreo...

Oreo does not like the camera....he refuses to look.  Jake doesn't either, but he doesn't feel nearly as strong about it ;)  My theory on Oreo is that he's from South America, where I think they believe that the camera will steal your soul.... this is just a theory ;)

I took it on as my personal mission to get him looking at the camera... here are some of my attempts...

And here's some serious athletic/yoga/type poses....notice the back end still standing and the front end laying/leaning...it's some amazing contortions ;)
Some Jakey thrown in for fun....he doesn't love the camera either...

I had Oreo's ball above my head when I took this one....
And here's one that I know Ali will appreciate....Oreo freaking and Jake about to pounce on him...

And finally....

The Eyes....

Got your soul, Oreo!! :-P

Day 2 - Tigger...

Tigger misses Ali I think....he is following me around.... when he's not permanently implanted on my bed that is!

Tigger's got your typical cat attitude....has no time for you unless you're doing something nice for him ;)  He is quite the princess! hahah!

Thankfully Jord was doing something nice for him.....

A Pic a Day!

I am missing my little seeester!!!  Why did she have to leave?!  I know, I know...I'm happy for her :)  It's just hard to get used to the idea of her not being here!

We shared a big room here at Mom and Dad's house....she gave up her huge space for little ol' me, how sweet eh?!  We had a bookcase in between the two halves, and a curtain wall took up the rest of the space, so it was really very private, but we were still able to chat through the curtains... it worked out great!

Of course when she left, I got to move the room around and promptly took up all the space :)  So I thought I would share some pics of the transformation!  And on the topic of pics, I was thinking that since Ali's going to be missing a lot here at home, I thought I would do a Picture a Day project!  It won't be all about me - just about what's going on in the house, or in my day...something like that.  I am not guaranteeing they will be exciting, but that's okay!

Okay, so here's the before pic of the bookcase (the back of it on my side) and our curtain wall....

This is Alina's side of the room all cleaned out...

Once I moved the bookcase and moved the curtains to the sides....look how much room there is!!

And AFTER!! :)

Looking from the bed into the other side of the room now....

Pretty great eh?!  It feels amazing having so much room and so much more storage!!  I don't even know what to do with myself :)  I still have some stuff to do - like put away all those clothes that are folded on the dresser, but it is all coming together beautifully!

Thanks so much for giving up your awesome room for me Al, I sure appreciate it!  I MISS YOU!!!
Love ya!!

Baby Update!

I went for an Early Assessment ultrasound yesterday, to determine exactly how far along I am (I have a history of PCOS which kind of confuses things...) - I found out that I am 11 weeks along!  Alina was able to come with me and we saw the baby and heard the heartbeat :)  Ali was able to get a video of the heartbeat and sent it to Luke - so great having such technology working for us!!  We even saw the little 4 cm long baby hiccuping and moving around - it was absolutely amazing :)

I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get pictures, but they gave me a few, so I wanted to share a couple on here....

You can sort of see the head on the right side, and the spine curling around to the bent legs :)

You can see the feet down there!! :)
That's the hand right there by the head - the ultrasound tech wrote the message - so cute :)

So that's our little wee one!  Pretty exciting eh?!  It was really amazing hearing the heartbeat and seeing it move around and actually have things like a stomach and feet and toes and fingers!  It definitely makes things way more real! :)

I had heard of this great product called a BellaBand, which essentially is a tube of ultra dense stretchy fabric that you can wear over your pre-pregnancy clothes to help you wear them much, much longer in your pregnancy.  You can unbutton your jeans and wear the band over them and it just looks like you're wearing a tank.

Click HERE for a link if you're interested.... They are much more expensive in Canada (as everything seems to be - grrr!), but I found a used one on UsedVictoria for only $10!  And it was even in my size!  Score!!  I was very happy about it :)  I'm not really showing yet, and still comfortably fitting into my clothes, but I know that will change fairly soon here.  So i was very happy with that purchase ;)

That's about all for now I guess.  My Doctor is booking my 18 week ultrasound for early to mid-July (while Luke is here, yay!!), and then I can go for my gender assessment ultrasound soon thereafter.  They don't tell you in the 18 week ultrasound here anymore - they make you pay for it at a separate appointment!! Very annoying.  But I will hopefully be able to get both of those done while Luke is here, which would be wonderful :)
